Public Transportation 

 

The public bus transportation service in Pensacola is offered by ECAT (Escambia County Area Transit).

 

The city is also served by Greyhound and it used to be also served by Amtrak, but, due to the damage made by Hurricane Katrina, the service was suspended.

 

There are plenty of taxi services available in Pensacola, as well. The fares for riding one are as follows: $2 for the first one-ninth mile, 25¢ for each additional one-ninth mile, 50¢ for each bag of luggage over two bags, 50¢ for each passenger over the age of thirteen, 50¢ for trips between 9pm and 5am, $18 per hour for waiting, and there is also a minimum charge of $11 for any taxi ride from the Pensacola Regional Airport, plus a $1 surcharge if the cab fare is over $11.

 

The best way to get around in Pensacola is considered to be by car. With the exception of downtown, parking is plentiful and free.

Continue to follow US-90 E/Florida 10A E. and make a slight left at Florida 10A E. Turn left at FL-10 W/US-90 Alt W. and right at University Pkwy. UWF will be on the right.
