Driving is considered to be the best way to get around in San Diego. But, due to the fact that it is a very large city, getting around by car may get quite expensive. If you're visiting the city for a day or two, try getting around by using the San Diego Trolley, which is also the first choice of many tourists, while sightseeing, due to the fact that it is known to be the cheapest way to see downtown San Diego.

The public transportation service is provided by MTS (Metropolitan Transit System), which offers bus service to almost anywhere in San Diego, except in several areas, where the service is infrequent and not very efficient, like suburbs-to-suburbs trips or links between some of the individual coastal communities. However, downtown San Diego, the buses run regularly, every 15 minutes, the bus service being weaker in outlying areas.

Easy! Just follow the driving directions listed below!

From San Diego International Airport: Turn left onto N. Harbor Drive, and then left again, onto W. Grape St. Merge onto I-5 South, and then onto CA-163 North. Merge onto I-8 East and from here, take College Avenue exit and go south. San Diego State University will be on your right. Proceed past Canyon Crest Drive (through the first stoplight) then make an immediate right turn to the green Information Booth for parking information. Ask the parking guard for directions as to where you may park.
