The Annual AFC (America's Finest City) Half Marathon is among the most popular annual sporting events in San Diego.

 

The marathon will celebrate its 33rd edition, in 2010, on August 15, and promises to rake runners through the most beautiful and scenic areas in San Diego, starting at the historic Cabrillo National Monument, following the beautiful San Diego Bay and Harbor Island, along the Embarcadero, through downtown San Diego, finishing in the beautiful Balboa Park.

 

The half-marathon has a limit of 8000 participants, while the 5k race has a limit of 1500 entrants, the event attracting a much larger number of excited spectators, every time it takes place.
