The Annual Edison Festival of Light's 5K Race, which is held every February, is perhaps one of the most popular and favorite annual sporting events in Fort Myers.

 

This fabulous, popular event takes place downtown Fort Myers, and has everything for everybody: there is a fun and entertaining 5k race, a junior run, a colorful parade that catches the eyes, and a few other highlights that make this celebration one not to miss.

 

The 5k race, which is offered by Orthopedic Specialists of Southwest Florida, a local Medical Group Practice, takes runners on a flat and fast course through the city streets of Fort Myers, lined with hundreds of thousands of cheering spectators that keep the spirit of the participants high.

 

The Festival of Lights has been named One of North America's Top 100 Events and One of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast, featuring 3 weeks of celebration and interesting activities for people of all ages.
