The public transportation service, in Indianapolis, is offered by the Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation, locally known as simply IndyGo, which runs throughout the city and its suburbs. The regular one-trip fare is $1.75, an all day pass costing $4. Perhaps the most useful route for visitors is 17 College, which runs between all of the city's most popular dining and nightlife strips, between Broad Ripple Avenue and Downtown.

 

The city is also served by Amtrak, through a station located right in the heart of its downtown area, with trains running daily between Indianapolis and Chicago, and trains running 3 days a week, between the city and Washington, D.C. & New York City.

 

Greyhound Lines also operates a terminal from Indianapolis Union Station downtown.
