Moundville Archaeological Park. Also known as Moundville Archaeological Site - it is a very popular tourist attraction.

 

The historical site is located south of Tuscaloosa, and visitors can admire 320 acres of beautiful surroundings, including Indian villages, or see the archaeological heritage of the city displayed at the museum.

Battle-Friedman House & Gardens. It is a historical building dating from the 1800's, holding antiques from that period, being located within pleasant surroundings. Tourists can visit the house from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 am to 12 noon, and from 1 pm to 4 pm. Guests should expect paying $5.00 per person.

 

Bama Theater. The oldest theatre in the city is located at 600 Greensboro Avenue. It is a popular venue and it's a place where people can relax, while watching a movie or live performances. Tickets are available at the Tuscaloosa Arts Council.

Sakura Festival has been held in Tuscaloosa, every year, for the past 12 years. It is a traditional celebration from Japan, honoring spring. Moundville Native American Festival is another fun festival, but with a more historical essence. It is held in Moundville, 15 miles south of Tuscaloosa, in a 320-acres park, including villages, nature trails and a museum. The entering fee for adults is $9; $7 for children between 6 and 16 and for children under 5 years, there is no charge.
