Columbus offers a vast and varied array of cultural and historical attractions, including world-class art galleries, interesting museums and fabulous, wonderful parks, among other appealing attractions, among the most popular ones being:

The Columbus Museum of Art, located on East Broad Street, featuring art collections that range from French Impressionists to American Modernists and other late 19th and early 20th century American and European modern art, including major works by Monet, Matisse, Picasso, Renoir, Hopper and O’Keeffe.

The beautiful Kelton House, which can be found on East Town Street, built in 1852, a piece of local history which reveals the 19th century local lifestyle, former home of Sophia and Fernando Kelton, who were wealthy merchants who risked everything to shelter and protect fugitive slaves, while conducting them safely on their route to Canada and freedom. Personal tours of the house are available by appointment.

The Ohio Statehouse, situated on South High Street, the seat of government for the state of Ohio, a 1860s Greek-Revival building that includes the George Washington Williams Memorial Room, a tribute to Ohio’s first African American legislator, as well as the ceremonial offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Treasurer, and Auditor, also featuring many large scale art works situated both within the walls and on the grounds of the building.

Other popular and major Columbus attractions include: The German Village Society, on South 3rd Street, the Wexner Center for the Arts, on North High Street, the Craft Museum, situated on West 5th Avenue, and the Magic Mountain Fun Center, located on Lyra Drive.
