The Long Island Museum, which can be found on North Country Road, offering visitors excellent exhibits in a quiet setting, including an eclectic collection of vintage horse-drawn carriages, decoys, artwork and special exhibits, successfully combining history and art, providing interesting and captivating displays, which are a delight for visitors of all ages.

The Hercules Pavilion, situated alongside Stony Brook Harbor, which houses the figurehead and anchor from the U.S.S. Ohio, the first ship launched from the Brooklyn Navy Yard in 1820, carved from a single piece of cedar which cost $1,500. Sharing the Hercules Pavilion is the Polaris whaleboat, considered to be the only surviving artifact from the Charles Hall expedition to the Arctic in 1870.

Grist Mill, on Harbor Road, which is one of Long Island's environmental treasures and a significant piece of history, built in the 18th century and operated similar to an 18th century mill. In earlier times the mill was the center of community life, where people exchanged news and gossip. Farmers brought their wheat and corn to be ground at the mill as recently as the 1940s. The water from the Mill Pond has been driving the wheel at the Grist Mill since 1699.
