There are more than sufficient fun things to do and interesting places to visit, located mostly near Allegany, among the most popular and favorite ones, being:

 

Allegany’s Nine Mile Creek State Forest‎, where you and your family can spend a fun day out in the nature.

 

The curious, and all at once beautiful, Rock City Park‎, located on Route 16 S B, in nearby Olean, considered to be a prehistoric ocean floor, featuring scenic and picturesque nature trails, also being named `one of the 8th wonders of the world`.

 

The Cyberstation, also located in Olean, on North Union Street, an amusement center dedicated to the entire family, offering entertaining attractions and activities for the enjoyment of all family members.

 

Salamanca Rail Museum, located in nearby Salamanca, on North Main Street, a fully restored passenger depot constructed in 1912 by the Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway that offers visitors displays of artifacts, photographs and videos, which reveal the area’s gradual development of the rail system.

Due to the fact that Allegany is a relatively small community, having only 8000 souls, living within its limits, it does not contain many appealing shopping spots, most of the stores and shops available only providing the necessary day-by-day items, most of the people who live here, driving to the nearby communities for a more rich shopping experience, such as Olean, Lakewood or Jamestown, where the following shopping centers and malls can be found:
