Sped a fun day out with the family at California's Great America, located on Great America Parkway, an amazing amusement park which offers attractions and activities for the enjoyment of all family members. Here, you will find the world's tallest double-decker carousel, a Paramount Action FX Theater, and many other fun highlights.

 

Sports & outdoor events

The Annual Mission City 5K Run for Fun, which will be held on April 25, in 2010, is perhaps the most popular annual sporting event in Santa Clara.

 

The 3.1-mile scenic course and the 1-mile walk take runners through the best amusement park in Northern California - California's Great America, in exchange of an entering fee (which varies depending on the date and course chosen) which will help the event's cause of raising money in order to benefit the Education and Seniors of Santa Clara County.

 

The organizers promise that all runners will receive a complimentary pass to California's Great America, valid on race day, a race t-shirt and a finisher medal.

Nightlife

People say that the nightlife scene of Santa Clara is not very appealing, the city only having a few great bars where you can enjoy a drink with friends, most of the partying happening in the fraternity houses from SCU campus.

 

Students are disappointed because of the fact that there are no worth-while dancing clubs in the city, so, if during your stay in Santa Clara, you get in the mood to dance, you'll have to get behind the wheel or take a cab and head to San Jose, which is only 10 minutes away from the city, where there are more than enough "nightly" choices that will provide all the nightly excitement you can think of.
