Radford University Art Museum, featuring over 1200 works of art, including more than 200 student works, including the largest collection of works by New York artist Dorothy Gillespie (70 works), 281 works on paper by Adolf Dehn, and the Kolla-Landwehr Foundation collection of 60 Huichol yarn paintings, as well as 250 works from the estate of Betty Parsons, a major art dealer in New York.

Clayton Lake State Park, located on the 4,500-acre, 21-mile long Claytor Lake, only 10 miles from Radford, offering a large variety of activities for water and land enthusiasts, including swimming, camping, cabins, lodges, a meeting facility, nature and history programs, miles of hiking trails, and a visitor center.

The Farmer's Market, in downtown Radford, open every Saturday during the months of May through October, featuring fresh produce, cut flowers, and potted plants, as well as homemade desserts, goat milk soaps and lotions, custom jewelry pieces and fire-glazed pottery. Face painting and a kid's craft are also offered every week.

Annual Events

Highlanders Festival has been a local tradition in Radford for more than 12 years now. It is a day long celebration of the region's Scots-Irish heritage, celebrated every year, on the second Saturday in October on Radford University's campus, and offers visitors Highland dancing performances, Celtic and Appalachian music, genealogical sites, Clan gathering, pipe bands, vendors and much, much more. Highlanders Festival is considered to be the premier annual event in Radford and a definitely ''must'' for all visitors.
