There is no local bus service in the city of Manhattan, but there are plenty of taxi services available, which are not that cheap, but do the job. However, for international KSU students, there is a free shuttle service available, from Kansas City International Airport, which will take them directly to campus. The best way to get around in Manhattan is considered to be by car, due to the fact that there isn't a public transportation service available, and it is the most convenient way to travel inside the city, if you have to travel far from your hotel.

From Kansas City International Airport: From the airport, follow the signs to I-29 North. Drive north, on I-29, for approximately 3 miles, and then take I-435 West (exit number 17). Continue driving for about 20 miles, on I-435, which, in some point along the way, becomes I-435 South. Take the I-70 exit (exit number 12), which is also the Topeka exit and the Kansas Tunrpike exit, as well. Drive for about 40 miles on I-70 KTA, and then take the Topeka/ I-70 exit. Remain on I-70, for about 50 miles, and proceed to the Manhattan exit (exit number 313). Go north on highway 177, for about 8 miles, in order to reach Manhattan. Cross the bridge, over the river, and be sure to stay on the right side, and circle back to your right, to K18 (Fort Riley Boulevard). Make a right at the corner stop light, on 17th Street. Continue driving on 17th Street, until you reach KSU campus, which is located, 10-15 blocks from this point.
