The Bloomington-Normal Amtrak station is located at 100 E. Parkinson Street, in downtown Normal, and offers 5 trains that serve the city in each direction, between St. Louis and Chicago, daily. The station also provides bus service to Peoria and Amtrak stations, in Champaign/Urbana and Galesburg. Due to the fact that it serves over 180 000 passengers, every year, it is the 2nd busiest Amtrak station in the state, after Chicago.

 

There are also 11 color-coded fixed routes in the area, offered by The Bloomington-Normal Public Transit System, including a paratransit service called NiteRide, which runs when ISU is in session, as well as a campus shuttle, known as the Redbird Express, which also serves ISU.
