Among the zoo's highlighting exhibits there is the Peter C. and Pat Cook Mokomboso Valley Chimpanzee Exhibit, a 1/3 acre exhibit, which is one of the largest in the country, Treasures of the Tropics Building, which houses the only Komodo dragon in Michigan, the elusive Black-footed cat, Dart frogs, Caimans, Fruit bats, and insects, Van Andel Living Shores Aquarium and many other interesting exhibits.
