Try out your golfing skills at the Smithfield Golf Club, situated on Georgia Highway 46.

 

 

Explore the beautiful Georgia Southern Botanical Gardens, located on Bland Avenue, where you can enjoy 11 acres filled with beautiful native plants.

 

 

See the First Presbyterian Church, on Fair Road or the Trinity Episcopal Church, which can be found on Country Club Road.

 

 

Check out the schedule from the Performing Arts Center, located on Georgia Southern University's campus considered to be one of the largest and finest performing arts venues in Southeast Georgia.

 

Sports & outdoor events

Georgia Southern University will hold its first ROTC 5K Walk/Run, offered by the Georgia Southern University ROTC Cadet Association, on April 24, in 2010, in hope to promote physical activity and fitness.

 

 

The 5k walk/run will be accompanied by a free quarter-mile kiddie (ages 6-14) crawl/walk/run that will start at Georgia Southern's Recreational Activity Center, followed by the adult race.

 

 

The entering fee for the 5k run is $20 for the general public and $15 for Georgia Southern students, staff and faculty. The ROTC Cadet Association plans to use the proceeds from this year's event to organize many other events such as the ROTC 5K, or maybe, the 5K run will turn into one of the most popular annual sporting events in Statesboro.

 

Festivals

There are various fun and entertaining celebrations which are happening, throughout the year, in Statesboro, GA, and some of the most popular and favorite ones are listed below. Check it out!

 

 

- The International Festival, which will be celebrating its 3rd edition on November 17th, in 2010.

 

- The ArtFest, which happens in April.

 

- The Statesboro Film Festival, which also takes place in April.

Nightlife

After the sun sets, there isn't much do to in Statesboro, for fun. There are a few places where you can have a slice of pizza or enjoy a drink or two with friends, but besides these activities, the list of `thriving` nightly action in Statesboro kind of ends here.

 

 

Perhaps if you take the time to look or ask around, there might be something going on and your night out might be saved, but if you don't know anybody `in town` the chances of spending a `wild` night out in Statesboro bend towards zero.
