The premier annual sporting event in Tallahassee is perhaps the Annual Tallahassee Marathon and Half Marathon, which takes place every February.

 

The event offers marathoner's an out-and-back, flat and fast course, perfect for first-time runners, which starts at FAMU, continuing through the city streets of Tallahassee, offering them views of the most beautiful and scenic areas in the city.

 

Every year, some of the proceeds are given to various local or regional charities, and the 2011 Tallahassee Marathon, which is scheduled on February 6, will not be an exception, because the organizers promise that one half of the net proceeds will be given to the American Lung Association of Florida.
