Taste a bit of the local history by visiting Averasboro Battlefield Museum, on NC Highway 82, which is a commemoration of the 1865 Battle of Averasboro.

 

 

Visit the Raven Rock State Park, in Lillington, which is 9 minutes away, by car, from Buies Creek, where you will admire amazing green surroundings, beautiful and rich flora and fauna, including fishing, hiking and horseback riding opportunities.

 

 

Test your golfing skills at Keith Hills Golf Course, on Country Club Drive, in Lillington, which according to Golf Digest, is `one of the top 100 values in the country`, offering visitors a complete golf experience, in a relaxed atmosphere, housed in a beautiful green scenery.

 

 

Sports & outdoor events

 

 

The Annual Jennifer Webb Memorial 5k Run, kept in March, is one of the few annual sporting events in Buies Creek, NC. The race is held at the Campbell University campus, and it is kept in memory of Jennifer Webb, who was a beloved athletic trainer at the university. She died in a tragic accident on April 30th, 2000, at the age of 22, and since then, the athletic training club has held this annual race, in her memory.

 

 

It is not as big or as renowned as other marathons and runs in North Carolina, but this memorial run is much larger and more important than any run for all those who knew Jennifer.

There isn't much going on in Buies Creek, after the sun goes down. If you're in town, and you're in the mood to party and enjoy yourself with friends the best option you can choose is to get behind the wheel and drive to the nearby major cities, such as Lillington, which is only a few minutes away, by car, or Raleigh, which is 43 minutes away from Buies Creek.
