Have fun with the family at the Boomers Entertainment Center, where you will find batting cages, golf courses, bumper boats, go carts, laser tag, a rock wall and much more.

 

There are many fun attractions for children, in Irvine, such as the Knotts's Berry Farm, The K1 Speedway, Bowlmor Lanes, Legoland and Disneyland Park (near Anaheim).

 

Take advantage of the swimming pools at the Heritage Park Aquatics Complex and have a great time with friends or family.

If you want to learn Kuk Sool (the martial art of the South Korean Special Forces), Kung FU or other native Korean kicking styles we recommend Ancient Arts Culture Center which can be found at 17955 Sky Park Circle, Ste. G. Irvine, CA 92614, located near John Wayne Airport with convenient access from the 405 or 55 freeways

The Annual Dr. Joe Cortese Memorial Motorcycle Poker Run is held in February, at Mission Motorsports, before the Super Bowl Sunday.

 

It is a fund raising event, benefiting the San Juan Capistrano Rotary Club Community Projects and Capistrano Animal Rescue Effort.

 

The best bikers get a cash prize and in order to participate they have to pay $30 (per rider) and $20 if they have a passenger.

 

The event is dog-friendly and all well-behaved dogs (on leash) are welcomed.

 

Festivals

The Annual Irvine Global Village Festival is a popular event, featuring artistic cultural performances on 5 stages, representing the cultural heritage of more than 50 countries from Europe, including Africa, Asia, South and North America.

 

The huge interactive Kid's Village is a fun highlight of this event, where children can find out more about art by checking-out the hands-on art projects, or take advantage of the games and activities provided here, for them.

 

The UCI Annual Open House, taking place in April, at UCI Campus, offers visitors academic information, car shows, campus tram tours, games and rides for children and the Wayzgoose Medieval Faire, filled with demonstrations, food booths and numerous fun, family activities.

 

Also taking place in April, the MS Walk is a popular, fund raising event, held in hope to end the devastating effects of MS (multiple sclerosis), consisting in a 10 km walk that is attracting more people every year.

 

During summer and fall, Irvine locals, as well as visitors, celebrate the Annual Irish Fair and Music Festival (June), the 5K VisionWalk (June), the Holiday Faire (November), St. Paul's Annual Greek Festival (June), Irvine Global Village Festival (October) and the Boot Hill (October).

 

Nightlife

The Plush Karaoke Lounge (2710 Alton Pkwy) is a great place, very popular among the locals, where you can have a good time with your friends and see if you have any singing skills. Who knows? You may be very good at it!

 

The traditional American bar, Anthill Pub & Grille (4200 Campus Dr) is serving customers delicious food and is particularly known for their beer. It is often used by youngsters as a meeting place.

 

The place where the UCI students come before class and after is Brandywine Student Center (529 East Peltason Drive), offering tons of arcade games for free (bring your student ID card), pool tables and a huge TV room. They also have ping pong tables, hokey and foosball tables, and they also rent sporting equipment.

 

For a glass of fine wine, former customers advice future Irvine visitors, to go to Bacchus Secret Cellar (6735 Quail Hill Pkwy), a great place to relax, offering comfortable chairs and couches.
